Bolt for the Heart, in partnership with Indiana University Health, donated 15 AED’s to the Marion County Sheriff department. At a ceremony at the Renaissance Hotel today, 15 lifesaving automatic external defibrillators were donated to the Marion County Sheriff Kerry Forestal. Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter joined in support of the event today.
“Having an AED along with administering CPR in the hands of our Hometown Heroes, will no doubt save lives. Equipping our Hoosier officers with the latest Zoll/Cardiac Science AED technology, gives someone a very heightened chance of survival when suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest.” Pierre Twer – Bolt for the Heart President
This donation has been made possible by the generous partnership of Bolt for the Heart and Indiana University Health. Together, they are focused on the goal of placing an AED in every Sheriff patrol car in all 92 counties in Indiana.
In addition to great support from our partners / sponsors, Bolt for the Heart raises awareness and funds to buy these AEDs through our annual Thanksgiving morning 5K Family Run. For more information and to register, please go to www.boltfortheheart.com
In the next two weeks, stay tuned for another major IU Health and Bolt donation coming for Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and Chief Randall Taylor.
