Yesterday, my daughter Ashley and I ran the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Half Marathon. It was a wonderful experience together—but tragically, two runners lost their lives during the event. Our hearts go out to their families and friends, and we send our deepest prayers and peace to all who are grieving.
Moments like this remind us why the mission of Bolt for the Heart matters so deeply. This year’s Bolt for the Heart Thanksgiving Day 5K will be a “Rescue Ready Run,” supported by Runners Forum, with AEDs placed throughout the course and at the start/finish line to protect participants.
After running two half marathons this year where three lives were lost, presumable to cardiac events, we at Bolt have never been more passionate about our work.
