Bolt for the Heart Donates 12 More AEDs to Indiana State Police

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 15, 2025

Carmel, IN – Yesterday, April 14, 2025, just prior to their quarterly board meeting, Bolt for the Heart proudly donated 12 additional Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the Indiana State Police—advancing their mission to equip every state police vehicle in Indiana with this life-saving device.

This donation is part of Bolt for the Heart’s ongoing commitment to public safety and heart health. Since its founding, the nonprofit has now donated—and helped facilitate the donation of—more than 3,400 AEDs to law enforcement agencies, first responders, and public community spaces across Indiana.

“All of us at Bolt for the Heart are so appreciative of the wonderful service the Indiana State Police provides to the citizens of Indiana. This commitment to service has been continued with the purchase of the final 162 AEDs needed to place one in every patrol car in the state of Indiana. Bolt for the Heart is very proud to be able to donate an additional 12 of these AEDs to the ISP.

Since our journey began by placing over 550 AEDs in the last 8 years, there have been over 20 documented lives saved by using an AED. The Indiana State Police now has over 700 units that are in the force right now. Thank you to the women and men of the state police for their continued commitment and excellence.”

— Pierre M. Twer, President of Bolt for the Heart

The donation ceremony took place at Hotel Carmichael in Carmel, just before the organization’s leadership gathered to continue planning its upcoming initiatives, including the 14th Annual Bolt for the Heart Thanksgiving Day 5K and the 7th Annual Play for Jake 5K this summer in LaPorte County.

Bolt for the Heart continues to rely on community support, sponsorships, and race registrations to fund these life-saving donations. To learn more or get involved, visit www.boltfortheheart.com.
