Letter From Our President
Remember how proud you were when Indianapolis hosted the Super Bowl? Wasn’t the Indianapolis 500 supposed to happen last week? Aren’t you looking forward to hugging that family member or friend without fear? I am confident we’ll get back to those days again soon; wher
e we had fun; we worked and built our communities to be stronger. Fun, kind of like we all had at last years Bolt for the Heart Thanksgiving Family run.
Well, I am happy to announce to you that “The Race Will Go On!” The 9th Annual Bolt for the Heart Thanksgiving run will happen! Save the date, November 26. Our plans are to offer the 5K run at the Carter Center Green / Christkindlmarkt in person, and also offer our traditional virtual run option. We will comply with all local and state ordinances regarding COVID, but all of us at Bolt wanted to provide some HOPE for a meaningful event for your families and for our community. There has never been a more important time to focus on the good and hard working people of our law enforcement departments which will benefit from this Bolt event.
Keeping our community’s safety as a priority, we will make a final decision on July 1 as to whether this year’s Thanksgiving Bolt 5K will be a live, in person run with a virtual option or whether it will be virtual only. We are grateful for the 665 of you who registered for our virtual Quarantine Challenge 5k benefitting our COVID healthcare heroes in March and we know that even if the Thanksgiving run becomes virtual only, it will still be a success and benefit our law enforcement agencies thanks to you and your support! We plan to open registration on July 1 and will work with the city of CARMEL and the state to gain their approval and ensure we have a safe event.
You will receive a survey this week asking your opinions on this years race. Thanks in advance for helping us gather your important feedback.
Thank you for all of your support of Bolt. Statewide we are placed over 2000 AED’s, thanks to you.
