Bolt For The Heart Press Release

Bolt for the Heart is pleased to announce a donation of 87 AEDs (automatic external defibrillators) to Noble County Law Enforcement Team. AEDs provide an electrical shock to the heart in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.

Starting in June, 2018 The Noble County FOP took it upon themselves to begin a fundraising effort to generate enough donations to purchase 84 AED’s.  This total means that every police officer car in the entire county, will be equipped with a life saving AED. Noble County, along with Tipton County have become the first two counties in Indiana to be 100% deployed with AEDs.  This project was a success with the efforts of all police officers in Noble County.  This program was led by Dwight Miller-Secretary and Treasurer of the FOP and Jim Stout-President, Noble County FOP.  “Many businesses and individuals really stepped up in making this $115,000 fundraiser a tremendous and impressive success.  It shows you how important the FOP feels about keeping their citizens safe from sudden cardiac arrest (stopping of the heart) and how the community has embraced these efforts.  No one loses in this type of passion and effort because this will save some ones life.”  Pierre Twer – President Bolt for the Heart.

Bolt for the Heart is a 501-C-3 not for profit organization that raises money through donations and a Thanksgiving morning, Family 5k run to buy AEDs for donation to first responders. Bolt has donated over 600 AEDs to date. This year their goal is to finish outfitting the entire Indiana State Police Patrol team with 134 AEDs. Bolt has donated 331 to the State Police to date.
